We are nearing the finish line for our new volume, which will be coming out in the next few weeks. For the moment, we are all busy here copy-editing and arguing over the correct capitalization of the “Internet“. We’re particularly excited about our guest poet interview — stay tuned for news of our release date and a look at our new cover.

The final submissions were read last week alongside one-of-several fine bottles of Napa Valley Merlots to be got at Trader Joes under 10 dollars (“If anybody orders Merlot then I’m leaving; I am not drinking any @#$%ing merlot!”-Paul Giamatti’s finest moment); Maui Brewing Company’s Aloha B’ak’tun, a Belgian stout brewed with chocolate and spices (meh-solid C); and for the avant-garde palates, Mikkeller’s Mexas Ranger, an English ale brewed with spices, almond milk, cocoa, chili, black beans, and avocado leaves (much better and more harmonious than it sounds: B+).

A few of us are finishing up our preparation for our oral exams. You can find us at the Claremont Starbucks at any hour. We’re the ones sitting with a stack of books, mumbling authors’ names to ourselves. Wish us luck!
